I painted for this International Women's Day to dedicated all women.

Thanking to my mother for delivering me in the world.

 国際女性の日にちなんで、インスピレーションが湧いたので、

パステルを取り出してみました。

インドでは、お腹の中の赤ちゃんのエコーをするときに、

男の子か、女の子かお医者さんは伝えてくれません。

女の子だったら、生むのを諦める人がいるからです。

女性がいなかったら男の子も生まれないよ。


女性の尊重を。

女性性を讃えよう。 

In India, when mothers do echo to see a baby in her belly, 

still doctor won't tell you if it is a boy or a girl.

Because if it is a girl, they may have to give up delivering the baby.

If there is no woman, there is no baby boy!

Honor creativity of women. 

Bagru Dye

音楽の余韻に浸りつつ、翌日には、

またBagru村へ草木染めに行っていました。

今回はブロックプリントでなくて、日本の伝統絞りをインド藍で試すという試み。



手袋に穴が開いていたので、手まで藍色に染まってしまいました。

染めについてはマニアックになって来たので、

Instagramに新しいアカウント@Leelatextileを作っています。

Basking in the afterglow of music nights, I headed Bagru for dying project again.

This time I was working on Japanese traditional shibori (tying) with Indian Indigo. It is turning more technical, so I started to post on my new accounts in Instagram @leelatextile. New Sun New Moon

初めての藍の作品　My first work of Japanese Indigo

１０日間あまりの日本への旅から戻ってきました。

I am back from Japan trip for about 10 days.

後で知りましたが、なんと帰国の日は、

 Later I came to know the returning day, 22nd December was a special winter solstice.

たまたま朔旦冬至という特別な日だったのです。

古代では新年とされていた冬至、

その太陽の生まれ変わりと、新月が１９年ぶりに重なる日。

Ancient time, winter solstice was considered a beginning of the year,
that is the day new Sun come and new Moon happen together after 19 years of time.

飛行機で雲の上を通りながら、太陽も無く、月も無く、真っ暗な夜だったけど、
 On the airplane, there is no sun, and no moon, and felt much dark above the sky,
満ち足りた心でいっぱいでした。

there was something warm and passionate to fill my heart.

日本への久しぶりの旅で、こんなにもポジティブなエネルギーをもらえるとは
 I have never expected to receive such positive energy from this trip to Japan!

思ってもみませんでした。

逢えたみなさん、ありがとう。
 Thank you all that made it happen to see me! I will come again.
逢えなかった方、次回また行きます＾＾


 曼荼羅模様は、今回、奈良の大和郡山の西井康元先生のところで、
２日間かけて作成させていただいたタペストリーです。
藍染めの板染めです。

日本の藍の色、静かな力を感じます。

 This Maṇḍala is the work of indigo dying I made for the first time in Yamato Koriyama, Nara under the wonderful guide of the artist teacher Mr. Yasugen Nishii.
Japanese indigo blue is calming but powerful.

何か社会貢献につながるクリエイティブなことしてみたいなぁ、

と思ってあれやこれやと試していたのですが、

It's been a while since I started trying small but a few creative works here and there for charity purpose,

近頃、Him Vedic Project※という団体に出逢って、

今日は、そのメンバーの才能あふれる方たちと一緒に、

日本人向けのバザー出店のお手伝いしてきました。

but recently I have met this NGO Him Vedic Project, and today with the talented members there,

I joined bazaar in Delhi Flea Market mainly for Japanese community.

Him Vedic Projectはヒマラヤの麓のヒマーチャル・プラデーシュが活動拠点です。

素材もヒマーチャルで採れたものたちばかりです。

 Main activities of Him Vedic Project happen in Himanchal Pradesh at the foot of Himalayas.

All natural ingredients come from there, grown organically.

そして、去年12月に縁があってオーロヴィルで作った、フェアトレード商品、

ヨガラグも置いてもらいましたよん♥

お国（州）違えど溶け込んでおります。うれしー！

一緒に混ぜてもらえるお仲間に出会えてよかった。

And..! This is organic cotton yoga rug which happened to be my project with a family in Auroville, They are placed next to each other, and looks awesome and sold well :)

I was blessed to meet those good-hearted people and do a little but creative actions together.

師走が近づいてきました。

12月、日本にゆきます！まる2年ぶり。

新しいこと学びに。後は、自分のリトリート。

ヨガクラスも受けよう。日本の自然が恋しい。

再会を楽しみに。
会いたい人がたくさんいすぎて困っちゃいます。

良い2014年の締めくくりになりそう。

Now December is coming closer. I am going to Japan, guess what, after whole 2 years!
Will learn new things! and it is for my own retreat. Let's take yoga classes as many as I can.
Missed nature of Japan.  Big reunions. So many people I have missed. It is a wonderful way to close 2014!

赤＊アカネ色素のアリザリン
ゴールドブラウン＊レッドカシスとタマリンドの種
ブラウン＊ ジャグリーというお料理にもよく使うインドの黒砂糖とアルザリンのミックス

使われる植物も違うので、日本の色とは また違う風合い

3 colors

Red* Alizarin

Gold Brown* Red cassis and tamarind seed powder

Brown*Jaggery, brownish cane sugar + alizarin

It is different plants from Japanese natural dye so color looks different

自然界にある色は、優しさが感じられます。
 
人には真似できないレシピで、自然が作った色だから、

はじめから調和が取れていて、どこかほっとする(*˘▿˘✽)

Colors existing in nature has its own grace even though it is a strong color like red or black.
 Because they created by special recipe of nature that human cannot imitate,
it is harmonized by nature and I felt so warm and relieved to see and touch them.

色は自然界にある全てのものから

・土・花・草・葉・実・皮・根・鉱物・
 

Colors come from all from the nature,
earth, flower, grass, leaves, fruits, skin, root, minerals

そして、

・鉄・銅・ミョウバン・など
金属が色と繊維を結びつけてくれて、
and iron, copper, or alum mordant connect color and fiber,


模様付けは、樹液・泥・天然のゴムの粘着力を上手く使って、
ブロックプリントしたり、泥染めしたりします。
milk of plants, mud, gum works as bond for designing part, like blockprinting and dying process
 
 

土の上に置くと、土が水分取ってくれるそう

Sand/earth takes water of the fabric

 後は、強い太陽の光。

発色を良くしてくれるし、すぐに布を乾かしてくれるので、
一日に何度も染めて乾かしてを繰り返せるんです。

ジャイプールの暑く乾いた気候とテキスタイル文化が
こう結びつくんですね。

And of course strong sun light, which gives strong color and makes the fabric dry quickly so they can repeat dying process a few times in a day

So we understand why textile culture thrive in Jaipur.
 

藍染めもしました。土のクズをまぶして、これから２回目つけるところ。

We also did indigo dye. It is a different way of Japanese blue. Sand dust is on the fabric, and now we will dip in indigo 2nd time.

  So we create, laugh, eat~wonderful trip it was:)

わざわざこんなところまでやって来てしまっている訳が、
 
ゆっくりとクリアになってきています☆

人生に起こること、全てが教えだから、

それから学び続けなくては。

そのためには、ただ行動するのみ<3<3

  It was a miracle full moon when I headed back.

 While contemplating my trip, slowly and slowly I started to understand why I am here.

Everything that happens to our lives are teachings of the lives.

So keep learning, and keep acting.

Jaipur, Morning

Organic Farm House in Bagru Village

Jaipurにショートトリップに行ってきました。

I went for a short trip to Jaipur.

真夜中に到着後、駅を出るなり、

めっちゃ喜んでいる自分

 Not until I had arrived at the railway station in Jaipur midnight, 

did I realized how happy I was (*˘˘*).｡.:*

また来れた〜

こんなに求めていたんだ〜みたいな・・ことをじんわりと感じ、

...I am here again..how badly I wanted it !..

逆に、今の生活に何が足りなかったのかにも気付き・・
So I must know what I was missing in my daily life,

 

それは、新鮮な空気と緑とアートな雰囲気。。

which is as simple as fresh air, green, and maybe a little artistic creative companies

Jaipurの太陽を燦々と浴び、満ちていく月と、西から流れる乾いた砂漠の空気により

Sun in Jaipur (Rajasthan is dessert area so sun is strong but this season she is so nice and soft),

waxing moon, and dry cooling air from far west of desert,

生き返りましたｗ

made my spirits revived! 

うれしくて、

So happy to wake up in the morning before sun,

朝も自然と目が覚め、

屋上で瞑想。

 meditate at the rooftop,  

シャヴァーサナして鳩がバタバタ。

shavasana while pigeons round morning over the sky,

プラーナヤーマ。

日の出を拝んでヨーガ。

pranayama and yoga saluting sun,

そしてゆっくり朝ごはんして、バグルという村に出かける、

have simple but nice and slow breakfast, and travel to Bagru, a village for workshop.

という素敵な３日間。

 Time passed differently here.

 直前に、ShanazとJaipur合流することになり、

彼女のおかげで旅が何倍にも楽しくなりました♫

 

 ありがとう〜！

It is not my habit to have coffee in the morning, but this my favorite hotel, Arya Niwas,

serves so tasty filtered coffee in cute Jaipur blue crockery. mmm !

Manuscript found in Accra

Facebookで、Paulo Coelhoがメッセージを発信していました。

あぁぁ言葉の美しさとシンプルだけど強いメッセージに、小さく感動したので

シェアしたいと思います。

これは、今年出版された彼の本Manuscript found in Accra の一部で、

日本ではまだ翻訳はされていないようです。

 

ちなみに、Pauloさんはブラジル人作家で、

有名な「アルケミスト」を書いた方。

前にもこの本について書きましたが（Friend Visited）、

10月に入ってからも会う人会う人がこの本の話をするので、

それだけ多くの人生に影響を与えている本なのだなぁ・・。

あたしがこの本に出会ったのは、

”20代にすべきこと・・”が列挙されているような

よくある単行本を買って、そこに推薦してあった20代読むべき本の一つだったので

買ってみた、という味気のない出会い方だったのだけど、

そこから大きな勇気をもらったのは変わらない事実。

半年ぶりに会った弟の誕生日プレゼントにこの本を渡しました。

それましたが、下記がそのメッセージです♪

People always say: ‘It’s inner beauty that matters, not outer beauty.’
Well, that’s not true.
If it were, why would flowers put so much energy into attracting bees?
And why would raindrops transform themselves into a rainbow when they enco...

unter the sun?
Because nature longs for beauty, and is only satisfied when beauty can be exalted.
Outer beauty is inner beauty made visible, and it manifests itself in the light that flows from our eyes.
The eyes are the mirror of the soul and reflect everything that seems to be hidden; and, like a mirror, they also reflect the person looking into them.
So if the person looking into someone’s eyes has a dark soul, he will see only his own ugliness.

人々はこう言う。

「大切なのは内面の美しさ。外見の美しさではない。」

いや、それは真実ではない。

 

もしそうだとしたら、

どうして、花はミツバチを魅了するためにあんなにエネルギーを注ぐのだろうか？

そして、どうして雨粒が太陽に出逢ったときに、色を変えて虹になるのだろうか？

なぜなら、

自然は美を待ち焦がれるから。

そして自然は、まるで吐く息のように美が外に現れたときにだけ満足するから。

 

外見の美しさは内面の美しさが顕在化したものであり、

我々の目に入ってくる光の中に姿を現すのだ。

 

その目とは、魂の鏡であるから、隠されているであろうもの全てを映し出す。

つまり、鏡のように、それをみている人をもまた映し出すのだ。

 

だから、もし、誰かの目を見ているその人自身が、暗い魂の持ち主なら、

相手の目の中に自分の醜さしか見ることができないのだ。
